I’ve been reading and writing for as long as I can remember. I was that kid that always had a book in hand, hid notebooks under my textbooks so I could write during class, and literally always dreamed of being a published author. I majored in Writing at the University of Rhode Island and worked as a professional copywriter for many years after that—both for marketing agencies and on a freelance basis.
In recent years, I’ve worked with dozens of writers from all over the world to help make their books the very best they can be. I have an obsession with words and line writing, but I specialize in overall developmental editing—plot, story and character arcs, worldbuilding, pacing, and more.
I am NOT a reader who’s going to blow through a manuscript and say, “Yes I loved it, maybe add some commas.” No way. I take my time reading, thinking, pondering, analyzing. It means you’re going to get honest feedback from me—if something isn’t working, I’m gonna let you know … and I’m gonna let you know why—but it also means I’m probably going to be your biggest cheerleader and hype-woman.
Every book has something to love. I spend time with my edits, so that means I find a lot to love about every book. And I don’t hold back (a lot of my inline comments are just me screaming about how much I love things). I’m honest, kind, and really do strive to be as unbiased and helpful as I can be.
I specialize in queer romance and genre fiction—including fantasy, sci fi, suspense/thriller, action/adventure, drama, and contemporary. Literary fiction might not be the best fit for me, but I’m also more than happy to analyze on a book-by-book basis, so if you’re not sure, reach out to me! I also offer a free sample edit.
