There are a million editors out there, all of them probably just as good as the last. So, what sets me apart?
Aside from the fact that I'm good at rooting out every potential problem with plot, characters, worldbuilding, backstory, and more ... I'm EXCITED and EMOTIONAL about the work I do, and it shows. I'm not afraid to squee and fangirl over the things I love. Sometimes, there's (written) screaming, cursing, fist-shaking, hysterical laughter, blubbering, crying ... you get it. Honestly, this is important though--you WANT to know what emotions you're evoking in your readers, and I will definitely let you know.
You will NEVER get strictly constructive criticism from me because I truly believe EVERY book has something to love--and that every author should know exactly what that is.
Anyway. That's my self sales pitch. I'm weird. If you like weird, I'm your gal.

I offer a wide range of services--from editing to writing and everything in between. I aim to be affordable yet thorough; as a writer myself, I appreciate the hard work (often with little reward) that goes into this craft. I am happy to consider payment plans to incorporate your budget! I currently require a 25% deposit via PayPal.
I also know that good work takes time and thought, so my turnarounds are usually around three to four weeks for a 100k manuscript, depending on the genre.
Don't see what you're looking for? Concerned with pricing? I aim to be as accommodating and flexible as possible!

At the heart of all good books is a strong story, and I want to help make yours the best it can be--well-placed plot, compelling character arcs, intriguing world-building, and all.
Developmental editing starts with the skeleton of a book or story, that is, the structure of it. I want to ensure that, before you spend hours and hours perfecting writing, descriptions, and dialogue, your pieces are in the right place. Your plot doesn't have holes, doesn't drag or speed to quickly past important details. Your characters are likeable but flawed, with plenty of room for growth--and complete arcs. Your worldbuilding is full enough to understand, without dragging the pace of the story or dumping too much on the reader all at once.
What Does Developmental Editing Include?
A developmental edit is like a really rigorous high-level alpha read. It happens towards the beginning of your story's development--before paragraph and line edits, because you want to make sure the STRUCTURE of your story works before you start fiddling over word choice and commas.
That stated, I would expect some line- and paragraph-level imperfections. I would expect messy writing here and there. My focus isn't on the individual words, it's on whether the STORY works. The plot. The characters. The worldbuilding. The conflict. Are your characters fully developed? Do their struggles and conflicts make sense? Does the pacing lag or move too quickly? Do characters' arcs flow with the story?
I leave inline comments as I read, so you get real-time reader feedback and reactions. This may include line-level commentary if I notice repeated sentence structures or consistent errors. HOWEVER, my focus is on the overall story's strengths and areas of improvement. I may make a note like "I need more information here" or "your pacing is starting to lag here", things like that. I also like to tell you what WORKS, what you're doing WELL, the pieces I LOVE ... because that's honestly the most important part, right?
After reading, I will provide an in-depth report on my overall thoughts, as well as thoughts in specific categories, including plot, characters, worldbuilding, and more. I may make some recommendations or suggestions, though I try to avoid outright giving ideas because it's YOUR story, and I don't want to tarnish it!
I'm also available for post-read questions/clarification!
